When I was little, I dreamed about owning my own horse one day. I’d take care of it, and we would ride off into the sunset together. Sounds nice, right? But how many little girls don’t dream about this same thing? I want to show you a portrait session with a girl who made her dreams come true – she’s got her own horse and I took some portraits of them together.

When the magic starts to happen
Last summer I was deep in my photography bubble. I kind of wanted to arrange a photo session with a horse (or a few). But I got so busy with my photography clients, so it was too little time left for my creative projects. Therefore I put the horse-project on my list of “to do some time in the future”-projects. And there it stayed until now…
Portrait session with a horse – for a true cowgirl
Can you imagine how happy I was when Sandra reached out to me and asked me to photograph her with her horse?! I mean, it was like she read my mind! Needless to say I was over the moon!
Sandra has had her horse Zidane for a few years, but this year she decided to sell her to someone who lives in a warmer climate. Zidane didn’t thrive here in this cold Nordic climate, therefore it was reasonable to move her to a warmer place. Before Zidane left Alta, Sandra wanted to capture some portraits together with the horse. This way she could have it as a nice memory of all the good times they’ve had together.

Would you like to incorporate your pet into the photo session? I think it’s a good idea! When pets attend photo sessions, it definitely adds some extra “life” and pictures will be natural and lovely!
