Winter elopements (November to April)

If you’re dreaming of snow-draped trees, blue fjords, cozy fires, and maybe even a Northern Lights show dancing overhead – winter in Alta is magical. The snow often sticks around until late April, and then… boom! Summer arrives.

You can elope surrounded by snowy mountains, go dogsledding, enjoy reindeer stew by a fire, or say your vows beneath the glowing Arctic sky. It’s quiet, remote, and breathtaking.

Summer elopements (June to August)

By June, everything turns green almost overnight. The days are long (hello midnight sun!) and the hiking is incredible. Whether you’re climbing to a scenic mountaintop, kayaking on fjords, or enjoying a picnic with reindeer or moose nearby (yes, really) – Alta in summer is vibrant and alive.

Autumn elopements (September to October)

Crisp air, golden leaves, and that soft light that makes everything feel cinematic. Fall in Alta is short but spectacular. It’s also the very beginning of aurora season, so if you’re lucky, you might just catch some green skies sneaking in after sunset.

It’s a perfect time to hike, explore, and feel totally off the grid – without the deep snow just yet.
