Anette is a Lofoten-girl, and when she was 19, she moved from home and lived abroad for many years. She didn’t plan to move back to Lofoten islands at all. Andreas is an Oslo-guy and he is very fond of nature and outdoor activities. Lofoten islands was therefore a perfect choice for a place to live, so he moved there. Their meeting was a mix of random circumstances. But since it lead to a wedding at the end of the day, maybe it wasn’t so random anyway? Here is their story…

Tinder love happens! And it can lead to a wedding in Lofoten islands in Norway

Anette lived in France, Italy and Switzerland and loved it a lot. Moving back to Norway wasn’t in her plans at all, but because of serious illness she had to come back and get a treatment here. After that she ended up living in Oslo. One day she was feeling homesick and was longing after nice mountain hikes in Lofoten islands. Therefore she bought a ticket and went to Lofoten to enjoy a weekend in a beautiful autumn weather.

  • On a mountaintop between Svolvær and Kabelvåg I opened tinder-app, and Andreas’ profile showed up, so I liked it. But when a lot of old acquaintances started to show up as well, I realized that the radar showed my profile too, so I logged out quickly, Anette tells.
  • Andreas liked me back, and we started to chat. Since he was going to move back to Oslo, we decided to go on a date, she tells.
  • Our first date was very nice, but when he took me out climbing for our second date, I was sold, Anette remembers.

Proposal on a mountaintop at 943 masl

Anette tells that proposal was magical:

  • Andreas took me to “Lofoten’s roof”, a mountain called Vågakallen. The hike is challenging, and on the top of the mountain, with the midnight sun in the background, he surprised me with a proposal. It was super-romantic! Anette tells.
  • We can see Vågakallen from our window at home, so it’s nice to think about the proposal when we look at it!

Lofoten islands – amazing place for outdoorsy couples

Anette and Andreas lived together both in Oslo and Tromsø, but they missed the nature around them. They also wanted a calmer family life and therefore decided to move back to Lofoten islands.

  • Vi love outdoors! This is the main reason why we decided to move back to Lofoten. We’re in the mountains both in summer and winter time. We hike, climb, ski, paddle, ride bikes and camp. We take our kids with us as much as we can. And we really enjoy our life here in the North, Anette tells.

About the wedding

Anette and Andreas invited close friends and family to their weddings day. With around 60 guests they believe it was the perfect wedding size for them, as they got time to speak to each guest.

  • We made a wedding program that we enjoyed a lot! On friday morning we invited our guests to a hike in Henningsvær. The following evening we had a get-together party, which was nice and cozy! Weather gods blessed us with amazing weather the whole weekend. Therefore everything was way above our expectations! Our guests enjoyed the wedding party so much, some of them have been partying to the early morning! We’ve got some snaps with people swimming in the sea and popping up champagne at 5 o’clock in the morning! Anette tells.
  • My best advice for brides- and grooms-to-be is to make their wedding day to reflect their values and to enjoy the day together with the people they love! Anette concludes.

Romantisk sommerbryllup i Lofoten

Her er deres historie…

Lofoten – fantastisk sted for turglade familier

Livet her er bare herlig! Sier Anette.

Konkluderer Anette.
