Iceland is one of the best places for an adventure elopement or wedding. This country is a paradise for a photographer. No wonder these adventure wedding photographers came to Iceland all the way from Spain to explore raw landscapes of Snæfellsnes, and capture their love for each other.
The wind was blowing crazy. She fell and hurt her leg when it met sharp lava stones. After eight hours of driving and photographing, the wedding dress was ripped, and it got a beautiful ombre effect from all the dirt on the ground. The hair became messy. But she didn’t care about any of this. They knew what they could expect from Iceland before they came here. And they would absolutely do it again!

Adventure wedding photographers in Iceland
Raquel and Manu, a lovely couple from Zaragoza (Spain) flew several thousands kilometers for their adventure experience in Western Iceland.
Their real wedding was in Spain in 2018, and they have rented an entire village for their three days long wedding with hundreds of guests. However, Raquel has always dreamt about post-wedding in Iceland, so when an opportunity showed up, they had to grab a chance! But first comes their love story…

Five years together
Raquel and Manu have met each other nine years ago, when both have studied photography. But their love story has started four years later. Raquel was the first one who started working as a wedding photographer. Some time later Manu joined her. He began as a second shooter, but now he does both videography and photography full time, and together they are a wedding photography team.

First, rock-concert wedding in Spain
One of the most beautiful moments of their wedding-weekend in Spain was when the guests started to come to the village the day before the wedding. But the best part of the wedding day was the rock concert, without doubts, tells Raquel. Raquel and Manu hired a tribute band who played AC/DC, and they enjoyed their music even more than the original band!

Why Iceland?
Both being wedding photographers; they’ve followed Nordica Photography for quite a while. One day they have recognized videographers who filmed their own wedding being in Iceland and making a promotional film for Roadie workshop (Nordica and Marc Pacura hosted it). Spanish couple knew there and then: they had to attend one of those workshops too!
The workshop-hosts opened this amazing opportunity for some of the photographers to be bride-and-groom models while attending the workshop. Therefore this was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be photographed in an epic place like Iceland by ten professional photographers. Isn’t it fantastic?

Surreal experience
Raquel and Manu admit that the whole experience on shooting day was exhausting, and they were very nervous, even though it didn’t show.
- We wanted to be good models, because we knew how important this is for all the workshop participants. But all the photographers were very nice with us, and they took good care of us during photoshoot day, Raquel says.
- When it comes to the weather, I feel that we were very lucky. It was cold, for sure, but it could have been so much worse, right?!

Raquel and Manuel are very thankful for this amazing opportunity to be on both sides of the camera. Now they are all inspired and hope to book few weddings and other photo sessions in Iceland. They’ll for sure go back to Iceland to explore more!

Raquel og Manu traff hverandre for ni år siden da begge to studerte fotografi. Men deres kjærlighetshistorie begynte først for fem år siden.

Rock-konsert bryllup i Spania
